Specifics About Our DISC Certification
 Our goal is to help you know DISC to the point where you will be respected as the true authority of DISC in your area. You will be able to use this knowledge to better recruit, manage, lead, coach, develop yourself and others or for whatever purpose or value you apply DISC. Our program is not your typical purchase a DVD and train yourself or even a one or two-day crash course on DISC. Our program is designed for you to be able to actually learn, apply and use the DISC concepts to be more effective in your professional and personal life. This is a state of the art program. The program:
- Has as a core component 5 one-hour live and interactive webinars that guide you through the 10 parts of our DISC training manual; BluePrint™.
- The webinars are spaced two weeks apart so you have time to actually learn and review the materials between webinars. Assignments, exercises and cases are included in our very colorful BluePrint™ training manual to make for an easy to learn and fun experience.
- Each webinar consists of instruction, review of previous materials and an opportunity for any questions you have about the material already covered or materials to be learned before the next webinar.
- Each part of BluePrint™ has various types of exercises, cases, games and other techniques to help you actually learn and absorb all the materials presented to you in the program.
- In addition to our BluePrint™ Training Manual, you will be guided through the necessary reading in THE standard of textbooks (the one all others strive to be like) on DISC; The Universal Language DISC: A Reference Manual. You are directed to read the exact pages that pertain to the lesson at hand via our BluePrint™ manual. You can read the entire textbook or follow our suggestions and save time by reading only the most important textbook pages.
- Taking your own online DISC assessment, using it, and learning from it is also part of our DISC Certification program.
- Have one of the experts in the field, Dr. Michael Abelson, as your instructor throughout the program. His advanced degrees in Clinical Psychology and Management, over 30 years of consulting experience, over 15 years working with the DISC (and delivering over 30,000 DISC assessments), the recipient of 7 University and national teaching awards, among other accomplishments, has prepared him to be an excellent guide and mentor for you during your program.
- You also take the online Workplace Motivators assessment and learn the “why” we behave the way we do. You’ll learn what motivates you and others. More importantly, you will learn how to better motivate yourself and others.
- Even the end closure project is designed to help you learn. Closure Option #1 is a test, but this is not the option we recommend. Options #2 and #3 are a case study of your choosing (either of an individual or a group) where you answer a series of questions given to you by Dr. Abelson. With Option #2 you present your case in a private conversation with Dr. Abelson. With Option #3 you share your case analysis (all names are disguised) with Dr. Abelson and fellow DISC Certification Candidates or past earners of the CMBA. Choosing Option #3 allows you to “sit in on” and learn from others in your group who have also chosen this closure option. Option #2 and #3 are true learning experiences as well as a chance to demonstrate your competence.
- Upon completion of our DISC Certification program you will “know your stuff” and we will proudly welcome you to the group who shares with you the distinction of being a CMBA.
